Tezos X

Status: Live

Tezos X substantially expands the execution environment available to TEZEX.

It combines higher-performance execution with increasing interoperability between different smart-contract environments, creating the foundation for financial markets that require greater speed, throughput, and composability.

For TEZEX, this is the technological layer that enables the transition from conventional decentralized exchange markets toward more sophisticated trading infrastructure.

Financial markets can generate large numbers of rapid state changes.

Market makers update prices.

Arbitrageurs react to discrepancies.

Leveraged positions change risk as prices move.

Orders are created, cancelled, and filled.

Liquidations need to respond to market conditions.

The lower latency and greater execution capacity available through Tezos X make this class of activity increasingly practical on Tezos.

Tezos X brings different execution environments into an increasingly unified system.

The initial architecture combines:

  • Michelson, the native Tezos smart-contract environment;
  • EVM, providing compatibility with Solidity and the broader Ethereum development ecosystem.

This expands the set of assets, applications, and liquidity with which TEZEX can interact.

Native Atomic Composability allows Michelson and EVM applications to interact within shared transactions.

For TEZEX, this enables cross-runtime trading in which assets, contracts, and liquidity associated with different interfaces can participate in a single financial operation.

Over time, the same capability can support more complex combinations involving trading, lending, collateral management, liquidations, and other financial applications.

Tezos X increases the usefulness of existing liquidity by increasing the number of applications and execution environments that can reach it.

Liquidity established in Tezos-native markets can serve activity originating through different interfaces.

Assets and applications available through the EVM environment can likewise interact with Tezos-native financial infrastructure.

The effective market becomes larger without requiring each execution environment to develop in isolation.

The capabilities of Tezos X create the foundation for:

  • high-frequency and automated trading;
  • perpetual markets;
  • central limit order books;
  • professional market-making infrastructure;
  • and more advanced financial products over time.

The following sections describe those markets individually.
